Timing with Dashas and Transits Introduction

The ability to accurately judge the development and outcome of someone’s horoscope based on the dashas, bhuktis and transits operating at any particular time is a skill that is acquired gradually and as a result of careful study and analysis. It draws upon all of our knowledge of how to assess the horoscope, its avashtas, vargas, strengths and weaknesses.

If we can read a birth chart, then we can begin to see when the karmas held within the horoscope will give their effects. The goal of this course is to demonstrate and explore how planetary positions, planetary dignity, the avashtas, transits and the divisional charts can all be woven together to see the tapestry of life unfolding into specific events.

Everything that we have studied in the past 2 years is now put together so that the static promise of the chart can be revealed in the dimension of time. Now we take the potentials of the chart, the seeds, to see if they will experience the proper timing and season for growth and fruition. It is one thing to understand the potentials of an astrological chart. It is quite another to actually be able to tell if those potentials will manifest.

  • In this course, we will explore the nature of the Vimshottari Dasha system.
  • We will review the methods of chart interpretation studied to date.
  • We will discuss the specific influences of transits.
  • We will also consider how the transits from the rasi chart are meant to be analyzed within the vargas.
  • We will consider the use of the most important rasi dasha to direct our attention to proper assessment.

Our goal is to reveal the dimension of time, as they relate to one’s consistent life themes.

Dashas and transits are very complex astrological indicators. Their mastery is rare. Our goal is to provide the proper foundation for such mastery to develop.
